The Importance Of Positive Quotes

Positive quotes are essential and beneficial to everyday life. They can make us feel uplifted and spark motivation and inspiration. But what if there are days where we don’t feel that drive to stay inspired or motivated?

That’s where the importance of positive quotes comes into play.

There have been quotes spoken by numerous people such as artists, writers, philosophers, celebrities, etc. You can find quotes by these notable individuals in books, television, and the internet. On the internet, you can find some quotes on GoodReads and BrainyQuote.

In this post, I will share my favorite positive quotes and how you can use them to stay inspired and motivated.

1. A Positive Quote about Struggle and Progress

6 Positive Quotes To Stay Inspired and Motivated 1

As I mentioned above, some people experience days when it’s dreadful and chaotic, and they probably wonder when there will be an end in sight. If you happen to be one of them, I’m happy to share this quote by Sigmund Freud.

He says that “One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful.”

Experiencing struggles makes you wonder when it will change for the better, but it teaches you patience. If you’re patient during the tough times and want to succeed, just read this quote from Sigmund Freud. When you accomplish your goals, you can look back with a humble attitude and have a clear perspective on how much you have overcome during that time.

So if you ever feel like the struggle is never-ending, the Sigmund Freud quote above is one of the positive quotes that can be beneficial to yourself during a time of struggle that will one day lead to remarkable progress.

2. A Positive Quote About Self Discovery

When you’re a young adult or a teenager, you go through a stage in life where you’re trying to figure out who you are and what you want to be. So with the positive quotes on this list, I figured I should add this quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, and I think his words are one of the most favorable quotes out there because it has a variety of meanings depending on how you look at them.

High school is small compared to the big, real world. In high school, you have individuals from different backgrounds in separate cliques. There are teenagers (young adults too) who are a part of cliques that share the same hobbies and interests; yet in college, you enter the real world, a place more serious than high school.

This is where Emerson’s quote comes into play.

When I read this quote, the part about not going “where a path may lead” makes me wonder how a path someone takes is traveled. Are you going on this path alone or with somebody? If you’re not alone, are they walking with you, or are you following them? Are they following you?

So many questions can be asked about the meaning of Emerson’s quote. The part where he says, “go where there is no path and leave a trail,” makes me think of going where you want to go. You don’t have to go somewhere because someone tells you, or if it’s for anyone but yourself.

If you walk your path, do it for yourself. Also, when you leave a trail, which leads to somewhere you’re happy to be at, it could inspire others to do the same thing.

3. A Positive Quote About Courage

Positive quotes inspire courage, and that’s why I chose this quote by John Wayne to be on this list of positive quotes at number three.

Life can be challenging. Sometimes, we get scared due to fear of failure or getting hurt somehow. John Wayne does make a good point about “courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway.” It’s one of the best positive quotes you can come across.

My perspective on this quote is knowing that life is not easy. And sometimes, if you want to achieve something – no matter how scared you are to take the risk – do it anyway. Because if you let the feeling of being scared to do something stop you from achieving your goals and dreams, you might never be able to accomplish what you want to happen for yourself.

So when you saddle up to complete a task to achieve your goals and dreams, you can look back once those dreams come true, and you’ll be proud of yourself and happy with the fact that you took a risk that resulted in something incredible.

4. A Positive Quote About Perseverance

Positive quotes can be good examples to have if you feel like you’re going through hell.

That’s why the quote from Winston Churchill is on this list of positive quotes.

Positive quotes on this list from Sigmund Freud and John Wayne display a type of perseverance as well when they talk about struggle and courage, and Winston Churchill can be referring to persistence when he says, “If you’re going through hell, keep going.”

Life is like driving down a long road. There are turns to take, curbs, bumps, and potholes you will come across. Sometimes that road will be smooth, and sometimes the road will be rocky and turbulent.

Life is full of surprises, and sometimes those surprises could probably put you through hell. It could be anything such as an event that makes you depressed, and you start to feel jaded, a relationship that became toxic, or feeling alone and wondering if there’s an end in sight to the pain you feel.

The silver lining to these feelings is knowing that they cannot last forever. Winston Churchill understood that (at least that’s how I see it when I hear this quote) because he had the perseverance not to give up and keep going, and when you’re going through hell, it can be a rewarding outcome to something better.

5. A Positive Quote About Strength and Inspiration

Positive quotes that provide some words of strength and inspiration are a must on this list. I found this quote from Plato, and I figured why not add this one.

I don’t know what it is about doing good deeds, but when I see a news report about someone doing a good thing in their community or just in general, it makes me feel good too.

People helping others in some way is a good action because it gives a pay-it-forward vibe. Good actions can inspire others if a person goes about their business somewhere and sees a random act of kindness performed by a stranger. A random act of kindness caught on camera and viral can inspire other individuals to do their good actions.

Plato does make a good point about “good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good actions in others.” Positive quotes like this can produce a domino effect in which one can witness a good action and be inspired to do the same thing.

You can use Plato’s quote to inspire, motivate, and promote kindness. And who knows, doing something good could change someone’s life with an everlasting impact.

6. A Positive Quote on Dreams

And last but not least of the positive quotes on this list are Walt Disney.

To all teens and young adults out there, what better way to have a positive quote to inspire and motivate than one from a man who created characters we grew to love when we were kids? I watched Disney movies as a kid and still do today when hanging out with my nieces and nephews. I remember watching movies like The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc. I mean, I can go on and on with the amount of Disney movies I have watched.

How does Walt Disney’s positive quote on this list play a part in inspiring and motivating?

Many years ago, Walt Disney was an entrepreneur, animator, and film and television producer who came from humble beginnings and became an icon that would live on for generations to come. When I think about what Walt Disney’s early life was like and what he had achieved throughout his career, I figured his positive quote could be excellent advice for inspiration and motivation.

As young adults, we all try to figure out what we want to do, the type of people we want to be, and what we hope to accomplish. Sometimes, going through a phase can be difficult when you try figuring out how to get from one place to another.

When I think about life in general and how I have my goals and dreams, I think about what Walt Disney said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” When I saw this quote, I thought Walt Disney must have played out his dream in his mind, and he used his imagination as inspiration for the characters he created that we have watched in our childhood.

I’m sure all of us have imagined what we want our lives to look like and have strived to make those dreams a reality. So with the positive quotes on this list, I tried to save the best for last because I do agree with Walt Disney’s quote, “If you can dream it, you can do it.”

Final Thoughts on These Positive Quotes

So there you have it with the list of positive quotes that can spark inspiration, motivation, encouragement, dreams, perseverance, and even self-discovery.
